EcoBrain Review and Giveaway

Sponsored Review - Read here for more information.

There is nothing like a good book. I have stacks of them sitting around my house and chances are you do to. Although I have been continually “greening” my home and lifestyle, my book buying habit still needs some help. After all, books come from trees – chop down a few trees, make a book, book sits on my bookshelf – something does not work in this cycle-of-life. So when I was offered the opportunity to review EcoBrain through Mommy Go Green Blog Tour, I jumped at the chance.

EcoBrain is solely dedicated to selling books about green living and the environment, and all their books are eBooks – no paper! To date, EcoBrain touts saving 10,704 trees, all by people like you and I purchasing digital eBooks instead of paper books. Cool. Not too mention, the EcoBrain folks are green ones, they care about their carbon offset, and yes my remote job seeking friends, their employees may work from home.

I was sold on the idea of saving some trees, reading some eBooks on my computer (why not, I read everything else on here), and liked the “greenness” of the company. But, I still needed to be sold on EcoBrain’s eBook collection. At quick glance, EcoBrain currently offers over 1,000 environmentally themed eBooks. Not bad. Given their eBooks are environmentally focused, EcoBrain still offers a wide variety of subjects within that topic, ranging from sustainable living, memoirs, cooking, business, and even kids eBooks. As a former science teacher, I was particularly impressed by their selection of teacher guides. A quick sort of eBooks by price revealed eBooks ranging in price from one dollar to over one-hundred dollars, with most of them costing less than what I would expect to pay for a paper book. And, of course, no shipping costs! In addition, there is always a “freebie” eBook available to review on the EcoBrain homepage.

I am sold. The next time I am looking for a book about the environment, I am going to by-pass the paper book dealers and check EcoBrain first. After all, if I want a book about saving the environment, maybe I should help save the environment while reading it!

I would be interested in reading The Green Parent: Your Kid-Friendly Guide to Earth-Friendly Living. It would be nice to have my kids get an appreciation for preserving the environment.

While so many sound so good to me - I'm thinking of my 10 year old god-daughter who has already won writing contests and been published for her essays on the environment, global warning etc. I thought "The Home Energy Diet", "Climate Solutions" and "Backyard Safari" - of course, the literally "grand prize" would be absolutely perfect for her!

Hard to choose just one. I guess The Green Parent: Your Kid-Friendly Guide to Earth-Friendly Living would be the one I'd pick.
